Phoenix History

The Phoenix is a female mythological bird symbolizing immortality, resurrection and life after death. She is also associated with the sun.

The Greeks point to the Phoenix living in Arabia near a cool well. Every morning as the Sun rose and dawn broke, it would immerse itself in the cool clear water of the well and sing such a delightful and sweet song that the Sun-God would stop his chariot to listen to the beautiful sound.

Every 500 years, as death approached, it would construct a nest of sweet smelling wood that it then set upon fire, the flames consuming the bird. From the ashes, a new Phoenix arose which would wrap up the ashes in a parcel of myrrh. Flying to Heliopolis, the "City of the Sun", it would deposit the ashes on the altar of the Sun God.

Phoenix was founded in the 14th reign of King Yuri. The original purpose was to show gratitude and to worship the bringer of rebirth and immortality, the Phoenix. Phoenix exists for this purpose - it is our belief, our promise. Phoenix is one of the most well established clans in the Nexus. We have approximately 300 members. Phoenix is allied with the Sun Moon and the Heavens Clan, both of which we have built trusting relationships. In times of need, we stand together. The clan's first primogen was xDaSteihlx, followed by his wife, Wildhair, then Cassie, Kimpo, Mythril, Liatris, Araias, TinaDragon, Vano, Kyas, and now Guerrund.
